Tonic hasnt done anything to the original.For a guy who made a cool mod, pays to run a server and yet claims he doesnt care about the game.I spent months playing on his server, and at times it was excellent, but then he would change it to just suck balls. Same time, the UBG can have some intense action with so much more firepower running around. Smatra spawns mostly low end guns and makes missions the only real way to get higher end gear, and even then, not much.I like the struggle. The UBG servers seem to spawn more weapons.I spawned in Staroye and found two mounted M2 guns with 300 rounds each and a fully loaded mounted MK19 grenade launcher.thats a little overkill for my liking. An example is everytime a player spawns in a town, a vehicle and an item spawn so no matter what, a town is never fully empty and your never stranded up in fucking Olsha with a 2h run back to the nearest vehicle. I like the UBG 75 player cap, but Smatra's mission code for the ARMAU is better(pretty sure UBG uses an older, modified version of Smatra's code). We all left right away for the ARMAU server. My guys and I joined, and shortly after everyone on the server was killed at the same time, and then people started spawning in the sky and falling to their death. Personally I find wasteland is the best gaming experience in years. You can just ambush at a road, or you can go for missions(the game spawns missions ranging from a disabled helicopter that is guarded by AI and needs fuel to a small AI base with supplies). Its fun because you can join up and just fight from a small camp in the woods, or you and your team gather base building supplies and can make huge bases. My friends and I play every single night. My buddy did a write up on it back when it first came out, including pics.

My guys play on the Smatra russian servers.They ping worse for NA players, but his servers at top notch and very smooth.Smatra modified the wasteland mod so its much better. Tonic, the guy who made wasteland is a dick and his original servers suck. Wasteland excels at PvP and kicks ass with its awesome base building. I like zombies as much as the next guy, but after a point you realize DayZ is better without them. The zombies in DayZ suck.they run like Kenyans, climb ladders, open doors and clip through objects. Thing about DayZ is it turns into PvP once your armed. I have been pushing this mod since Tonic released it.
